About Assetprint

What is Assetprint?

Assetprint is a secure record of your financial assets, organized across eight categories: checking and savings, taxable investment, retirement, accounts for minors, business and trust, real assets, insurance, and important legal documents. For every account it shows whether the account is set up to bypass probate or may be subject to it, and it names a Third Executor who receives the record after a verified claim. The result is an authenticated PDF your loved ones can act on.

Who is Assetprint for?

Anyone who holds accounts at more than one institution and wants the people they leave behind to know what exists, where it is, and how to reach it. It is built for individuals and couples organizing their own assets. Executors settling an estate now will find the guides under Insights more useful.

What does it cost?

$9.99 per month or $99 per year. One plan, everything included: unlimited accounts across all eight categories, Probate Intelligence, Third Executor designation and claim protection, authenticated PDF delivery, and the Legacy Simulator. There is no free tier. You can cancel from the billing portal in your account.

Does Assetprint connect to my bank or brokerage?

No. You enter each account yourself: the institution, the account type, how it is titled, the last four digits of the account number, the value, and the beneficiary if there is one. Assetprint never asks for the passwords to your other accounts, and it keeps only the last four digits of each account number.

What is a Third Executor?

A person you trust to receive your Assetprint after your death: often a spouse, adult child, sibling, or the executor named in your will. You designate them by name, email, and phone. They are told about the role when you designate them and confirm it by email and by a phone call with us, so the contact details are known to work. They do not see your Assetprint while you are living.

How does my Third Executor receive the Assetprint?

After your death, anyone can start a claim in the Assetprint application by giving your name and date of birth. We send a claim link to the Third Executor's email on file. The link lasts seven days and works once. Your Third Executor uploads a death certificate, we review it, and once the claim is approved the authenticated Assetprint PDF is emailed to them. If a claim is rejected, the reason and a new link are sent.

What does "bypasses probate" mean on my Assetprint?

It means that, based on how you told us the account is titled and whether a beneficiary is named, the account is set up to pass directly to a surviving owner or beneficiary with a death certificate, rather than through the probate process. "Subject to probate" means the opposite: the account would wait for the court to appoint an executor. The determination follows general rules for account registrations. It is not legal advice, and state law and institution procedures vary, so confirm any change with a qualified professional.

How do I know a delivered Assetprint is authentic?

Every Assetprint PDF carries a document ID, a watermark, and a QR code. The code opens a verification page in the Assetprint application that confirms the document ID and whether the file matches the record we hold.

Does Third Executor provide legal, tax, or investment advice?

No. Third Executor, LLC is not a law firm, does not give investment advice, and does not hold, manage, or take custody of your money or investments. Assetprint is an asset organization tool. For advice on your situation, consult an attorney, accountant, or financial advisor.

General estate questions

What documents are needed to settle the financial asset component of an estate?

In most cases: a certified copy of the death certificate, Letters Testamentary (or Letters of Administration if there is no will), an Affidavit of Domicile, government issued identification for the executor or personal representative, and an Employer Identification Number (EIN) for the estate. Institutions may ask for their own forms as well.

What is probate?

Probate is the legal process of proving that a will is valid. It is overseen by the Surrogate's Court (or the probate court, depending on the state). Once the will is validated, the court appoints the executor named in it, who is then authorized to collect and distribute the estate.

What are Letters Testamentary, and how do I get them?

Letters Testamentary are certified documents issued by the court that prove you have the legal authority to act on behalf of the estate: to pay bills, file tax returns, and manage and distribute assets. They are issued after the court validates the will. If there is no will, the equivalent document is Letters of Administration.

How do I get an EIN for an estate?

Apply online with the IRS. The application is free and the number is issued immediately. Our guide, Death. Now what?, walks through when you need it.

Apply for an EIN at irs.gov

How do I get a certified copy of a death certificate?

The funeral director usually obtains certified copies for you. Otherwise, request them from the county clerk or the state department of vital statistics where the death occurred. Order more copies than you think you need; most institutions want an original.

How much does a death certificate cost?

It varies by state, but typically $20 to $50 per certified copy, with additional copies often cheaper when ordered together.
